Prof. Feinendegen also specializes in Botox and dermal filler treatments, offering a variety of options to enhance facial appearance and restore youthful contours. These non-surgical treatments provide subtle and natural-looking results, addressing concerns like wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss. The procedure is customized to meet the patient’s goals for a rejuvenated and refreshed look.

Botox and fillers are non-invasive cosmetic procedures aimed at enhancing facial aesthetics. Botox smooths out wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles, while fillers restore volume and contour to areas such as the cheeks, lips, and under the eyes. These treatments provide immediate, visible results with minimal downtime, helping patients look and feel their best.

Before each operation, a detailed differential diagnostic examination is carried out, as well as detailed consultation and explanation by Prof. Feinendegen.

Many of these procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis in the day clinic in Zurich-Zollikon or in Schaffhausen in an outpatient operation in the cantonal hospital, depending on the patient’s state of health. General anesthesia is also often possible on an outpatient basis. The general anesthesia is carried out by our long-term partner narkose.ch. Narkose.ch specializes in outpatient anesthesia.

For internal medicine patients at risk, the procedures are sometimes carried out in the clinic with a short hospital stay. Prof. Feinendegen discusses how and what exactly is done in great detail and individually with each individual.

What Treatment Generally Looks Like ?

Prof. Feinendegen guarantees a happy and satisfying treatment for you. He patiently chooses the best treatment procedure after careful investigation and thoroughly studying the problem area, the findings and your wishes.

Botox – Botulinum toxin

The term “Botox” stands for botulinum toxin and refers to a substance that can reduce wrinkles. A so-called “Botox treatment” is an injection with botulinum toxin to reduce wrinkles such as crow’s feet and even to remove them completely. The primary goal is to reduce wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin is a substance that is produced by bacteria in the absence of oxygen and that weakens the muscles in the body. Botulinum toxin treatments (injections) have been part of the plastic surgeon’s repertoire for around 20 years. Back then, for example, eye muscle and neck muscle cramps were alleviated by injecting botulinum toxin specifically into the corresponding muscles. This method is still used today.

Botox treatment is almost painless

A Botox treatment is almost painless because we use the thinnest needles available on the market (from the USA). This means that the Botox treatment and the injection are barely noticeable.

If desired, the skin can be pre-treated with an anesthetic cream before the injections. Pain relief is always achieved by applying ice shortly before the injection, which also reduces the tendency to “turn blue”.

Filler Injections

Filler injections are injections with hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance produced by the human body and is therefore well tolerated by tissue. It has two functions:

  1. Hyaluronic acid is an important connective tissue substance in the skin and is important for its elasticity. The older you get, the less hyaluronic acid can be produced in the skin, which then leads to the formation of wrinkles.
  2. It binds water in the skin and thus prevents dehydration.

Fine to medium-deep wrinkles can be treated well with targeted fillings using cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

The so-called nasolabial folds and marionette lines (corners of the mouth) are particularly suitable for hyaluronic acid treatment. Hyaluronic acid is also used to fill lips or to fill volume deficits in the cheek area.

Unlike Botox, a hyaluronic acid treatment does not “paralyze” a wrinkle, but rather fills it in a targeted manner. This is why Botox and hyaluronic acid are used in different places on the face. Both have a different function. Forehead wrinkles or frown lines, for example, cannot be treated with hyaluronic acid. Forehead wrinkles are caused by facial contraction and not by a volume deficit like the nasolabial fold, for example.

A hyaluronic acid treatment can also give the face more fullness and model the face.

Hyaluronic Acid Treatment – Restylane

Prof. Feinendegen only uses Restylane products. Restylane is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Treatment with cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Restylane) leads to an immediately visible improvement in the quality of the skin. The hyaluronic acid is produced in special, certified laboratories under the strictest sterile conditions. Different consistencies of hyaluronic acid are available depending on requirements.

Hyaluronic Acid can be also used in the sense of a skin booster, giving the skin a glowy rehydrated look. In this case, the hyaluronic acid product used for a skin booster effect is less strong than the one used for augmenting lips or cheeks.

As with botulinum toxin injections, the skin is cooled with ice before the injection to reduce pain. If required and requested, a pain-numbing cream is also applied to the affected areas. The cream must be left on for at least 30 minutes. These measures make the injection almost pain-free.

Prof. Feinendegen has the ointment made in a pharmacy according to his recipe.

The Impact That Botox and Fillers Can Make on You

  • Botox: Relaxes the underlying muscles and thus helps smoothen wrinkles like crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead creases.
  • Fillers: Adds volume that was lost, defining the lips or cheeks, and corrects what could be described as deep wrinkle-like nasolabial folds.
  • Long-lasting effect: The duration of the effects may vary, lasting for 3-4 months with Botox and up to 6-12 months with fillers.

Botox and filler treatments can be combined with the latest innovation in the field of aesthetic medicine – skin rejuvenation and biostimulation through an extract from one’s own blood, the so-called PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma).

Having treatments with Prof. Feinendegen is smooth, individual and prone to perfection. Most procedures will take less than an hour.  Prof. Feinendegen offers Botox treatments at all three locations: Zurich, St. Moritz, Schaffhausen.

Botox and fillers offer a vast possibility for every individual need. Get in touch with us today to get your individual glow.

Prof. Feinendegen specializes in removing skin tumors such as basal cell carcinomas, melanomas or squamous cell carcinomas on the face and body with minimal scarring and in an aesthetically perfect manner and in reconstructing the resulting defects. Dr. Feinendegen has developed many of his own techniques to preserve aesthetics, form and function. One example of this is the V/Y perforator flap technique. This technique allows the symmetry and shape of the nose to be preserved even in the case of extensive tumors.

Prof. Feinendegen is also able to remove large, extensive tumors on the body using special, specially developed surgical techniques and to move large flaps of skin in order to remove the tumor with minimal scarring and to cover the resulting defect again (for example, the flapjack method by Prof. Feinendegen). During the removal of skin and soft tissue tumors, histological examination is often carried out in the laboratory during the operation. This is also called Mohs surgery.
The aim of removing the tumors is to eliminate and correct the defect in both functional and aesthetic terms.
